Regular Visiting Hours
All visitors should be at least 14 years old. 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Pediatrics
Parents of Patient: Unlimited visiting
All other Pediatric Visitors: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Maternity
Regular visiting hours: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Special Visiting Hours for family Members: Check at the Lobby Desk or with OB nurses for specific times

Intensive Care Units
Visitors limited to immediate family only. Visitors limited to immediate family only.
- Only two persons may visit each patient at the visiting time listed. Visitors should call the unit from the designated waiting area to obtain permission to visit.
8 a.m., 10 a.m., Noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m., 8 p.m.

Oncology
Unlimited visiting for family members and significant other persons.

After-Hour Visitors
Visitor identification is required for visitors who have permission to remain on the floor after regular visiting hours end. A pass may be obtained at the nurses' station or from security at the Lobby Desk when family members are called in between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m.

The Southeast Hospital College of Nursing & Health Sciences is a private not-for-profit institution of higher learning that specializes in the preparation of individuals for high demand health care careers.

Southeast Hospital offers both in-home and hospice care through Southeast Home Health and Southeast Hospice

Southeast Home Health:
Southeast Home Health is Medicare certified and Medicaid approved. Services for cancer patients include skilled nursing procedures provided by a registered nurse; occupational therapy; physical therapy; speech pathology; enterostomal care parenteral nutrition; medical social work; and help with activities of daily living.

Nurses also work to educate patients and families about care needs so that a patient can be as independent as possible. The agency can also assist patients in securing medical equipment such as wheelchairs, beds and oxygen delivery systems.

On Site Guest Services

Wishing Well

Welcome to the Wishing Well Gift Shop operated by the Southeast Hospital Auxiliary.

All revenues raised by the Gift Shop are returned to Hospital improvement projects. Shopping in the Gift Shop also carries the bonus of being sales tax free. Gift wrapping is available for a small fee.

Floral and gift orders can be placed online any time of day, but will ONLY be delivered by volunteers Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

You can also place orders by phone by calling 573-334-4822 and ask for the Gift Shop (Ext. 5617) between the hours of 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. weekdays, and noon to 6 p.m. on weekends. Deliveries are only made to inpatients and hospital employees.

Parking

Free parking for patients and visitors is available in a parking areas located along Lacey Street (adjacent to the Hospital's main entrance) and just east of the Hospital's Emergency entrance. Free visitor parking is also available in parking structures located immediately west of the Hospital's main entrance and next to the Southeast Medical Plaza on Broadway.

Shuttle Service available from Visitor Parking Lots

Visitors and patients are welcome to hop aboard our Hospitality Shuttle for a free lift between parking areas and the Hospital's main entrance. Shuttles run (weather permitting) weekdays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on weekends from 11:45 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Volunteer Information

Southeast depends on its volunteers

Volunteers at Southeast Hospital wrap the gift of time with a special talent for caring.

Southeast Hospital's Auxiliary volunteers contributed more than 45,692 hours in 2002. They also welcomed 75 new members last year, swelling the ranks to more than 420.

The Auxiliary also contributed $50,000 to the Hospital in 2002 from many projects that includes the Wishing Well Gift Shop in the Lobby.

There are no age restrictions for adult volunteers. Every effort is made to pair each volunteer's interest and time availability with service opportunities open at the time. People from all over the region are active participants in the volunteer program.

All adult volunteers join the Auxiliary and dues are $5 a year. Volunteers can buy smocks and vests at cost or borrow them while on duty.

To reflect its appreciation and the value of the volunteer effort to the Hospital, a fringe benefit package has been developed for those who volunteer 150 hours or more per year.

Each summer, Southeast sponsors a popular Junior Volunteer program for young people age 14-18.

Southeast Hospital is located near the center of Cape Girardeau, overlooking scenic Capaha Park.

To Hospital from Illinois:
*Take Highway 74 to West End Blvd.
*Turn right on West End.
*Proceed to Broadway, and turn left.
*Stay on Broadway past Capaha Park, then proceed up Lacey Street hill to Hospital.

To Hospital from I-55:
*Take Exit 95 or Exit 99 to Kingshighway.
*From Kingshighway, go east on Broadway to Sunset.
*Turn right on Sunset, then left on Lacey Street to Hospital.

Our Hospital is located approximately 4 miles from I-55 and 2 miles from Bill Emerson Memorial Bridge.
