Dr. Robert F Shields, DO

My adult son is disabled and has received social security for both mental and physical disabilities for 8 years. Not und...erstanding the consequences of his actions, he went to this doctor for a review of his condition. Dr. Shields spent less than 15 minutes with him, administered no tests, reviewed no records, and sought no consultation with the specialists who had diagnosed the disabling condition.

Without any inquiry into what circumstances had changed or what treatment had occurred to heal a still obvious disabling condition, Dr. Shields took my son's word that he could now work and signed off on a form stating that he was no longer disabled. However, my son cannot hold a job and wasn't able to hold one after this jerk-knee judgement occurred.

That single act cost my son months of litigation, thousands in legal fees that I had to pay, and threatened his only source of income, Social Security Disability. I should have sued this man. more details
