Dr. Maxen L Baumgardner, DO

I had the misfortune of being "treated" by Dr. Baumgardner in the ER at Florida Hospital South in Orlando. Baumgardner w...as impatient, rude to myself and my loved ones, and did very little to care for me other than run a few tests before sending me for involuntary psychiatric care without even speaking to me (I arrived unconscious) or completing a psych evaluation - a move that my regular doctor called "flat out abusive" of his authority. Baumgardner's ego was, in fact, so large that he had my boyfriend escorted out by security because he dared question the wisdom of my mandatory psychiatric treatment in light of Baumgardner's lack of interaction with me before making that determination. Baumgardner claimed that he had been threatened after my SO told him that he would be following up about Baumgardner's decision - apparently he has a very short temper for an ER doctor. Doctor Baumgardner's performance was, without a doubt, the single worst medical experience that I have ever had; and I am frequently in and out of hospitals for an ongoing condition. The experience was so negative that myself, my SO, and both of our families will be avoiding Florida Health systems at all costs going forward.
