Saw Dr. Garelick for a 2nd opinion on chronic hip pain. He took x-rays, saw nothing on them (was not there for fracture...), said there was nothing he could do. When pressed for a referral to someone who COULD help, he was vague and unhelpful. Suggested I learn to live with ever-increasing pain, never seemed at all interested in investigating WHY I was in so much pain - if it wasn't on the x-rays, it didn't exist. Refused to write an order for an MRI, saying it wouldn't tell them anything.
Arrogant, rude, and horrible bedside manner. Maybe he's better with soccer players, which is the only reason I can see people rating him highly. I have seen a lot of orthopedic surgeons in the last 25 years, but this was the only visit that left me in tears - which he didn't notice. more details
