For over 35 years, Lakewood Regional Medical Center has provided quality health services to our local communities. We have grown into a regional medical center and hospital, with over 600 physicians 586 employees, and 40volunteers. We are very excited about the future of our facility. We're investing $10 million in support of Lakewood Regional Medical Center's mission to provide quality health care. This includes adding two new cath labs which will be finished in early 2009, upgrading two radiology rooms and we installed an advanced 64 Slice CT scanner. Lakewood Regional Medical Center is fully accredited by The Joint Commission, the nation's oldest and largest hospital accreditation agency. The hospital was designated a UnitedHealth Premium® Specialty Center for Cardiovascular Surgery and Interventional Cardiology. Lakewood Regional Medical Center supports many organizations such as the Lakewood YMCA, Pathways Volunteer Hospice, Lakewood Pharmacy Foundation, Su Casa Domestic Abuse, Meals on Wheels, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association – Mended Hearts and Project Sheppard. Lakewood Regional Medical Center currently has contracts with many insurance and managed care plans. Most major insurance plans are accepted at our facility.

Mark Korth has served as Chief Executive Officer for Lakewood Regional Medical Center since April 2006. Before joining Lakewood, Mr. Korth served for four years as Chief Operating Officer for Los Alamitos Medical Center. Prior to joining Tenet, Mr. Korth worked as Vice President of My ePHIT, a web-based provider of employee and health plan wellness programs, and spent five years as an executive within Sutter Health System. His time at Sutter included three years as Chief Operating Officer for Sutter Independent Physicians, a 500-physician member independent physician association. Mr. Korth received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Brigham Young University in 1992. He subsequently earned both a Master's of Healthcare Administration and a Master's of Business Administration from the University of Minnesota in 1995.
