I went to Dr. Sawyna for a Lapband fill and will never go back. Because I had gained weight, he spent a majority of the ...appointment telling me how I was, essentially, a failure. Dr. Sawyna informed me that having a fill would not help me to lose weight. He went as far as to tell me that he would have to amputate my arms and legs in order to get me to stop eating. What he doesn't seem to understand is that many of us who opt into bariatric surgery already have low self-esteem and degrading them instead of supporting them in their journey could be detrimental. I had never been treated this way by my previous bariatric doctor who, unfortunately, moved away. I will not be going back to Dr. Sawyna. more details

He was rude during the entire encounter, disregarding my medical history beyond two months prior when I first began seei...ng him, and judging me based on one mistake that I admitted up front. more details
