Oak Hill Hospital

11375 Cortez Boulevard Florida FL, Brooksville, 34613

Oak Hill Hospital has been serving the Nature Coast since 1984. We have grown to become Hernando and Citrus Counties largest and most advanced medical facility, offering Hernando County's only comprehensive heart program including open heart surgery. Oak Hill Hospital has achieved distinction as the:First Chest Pain Center in Hernando and Citrus County accredited by the Society of Chest Pain Centers First Primary Stroke Center to be fully accredited by the Joint Commission (JC) in Citrus and Hernando Counties. First hospital in the area to be recognized as an accredited Cancer Institute Accredited Chest Pain Centers strive to quickly diagnose cardiac patients, begin treatment within minutes, and significantly improve the chance of a positive outcome. Studies show that Chest Pain Centers reduce mortality rates. The emphasis of accredited Chest Pain Centers is to focus on high-risk patients as well as decreasing unnecessary admissions of low-risk patients with chest pain. Our expanded Emergency Department continues to strive for higher standards. When faced with a life threatening injury or illness, time matters. That's why our team of nationally certified Registered Nurses and Board Certified physicians are dedicated to diagnosing and treating patients faster than any hospital in Citrus and Hernando Counties. The Cancer Institute at Oak Hill Hospital continues to enjoy an affiliation agreement with Shands Health Care and the University of Florida Shands Cancer Center. This collaboration provides cooperative diagnostic treatment protocols and continuing medical education opportunities for specialized health care of complex medical conditions. On behalf of the entire Oak Hill family of over 900 associates, 300 physicians and 300 volunteers, I invite you to take advantage of all the information available through our website. Feel free to use our website as a constant resource. You will want to return to our website to learn of the latest programs and services we offer, as well as our many and varied community events and educational seminars. __________________________________________________ ADVANCED TECHNOLOGYOak Hill Hospital is now offering potential emergency room patients how long the wait is before they make the trip. Patients can text 23000 with the word ER in the text body to find out the wait time from their cell phone. Electronic Health Record (EHR) – With EHR, access to patient health information is simplified and patient safety and quality improved. Our hospitals have brought numerous clinical components for the EHR on-line through major investments in technology. Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS) –The PACS system immediately digitizes images such as X-rays, and other scans including CT, MRI and PET, so they can be stored and electronically viewed on screens anywhere. This enables doctors and other health care professionals to access the images, even remotely, and to compare new images with previous images at the touch of a button. Electronic Medication Bar Coding System (eMAR) – We led a national effort to reduce medication errors by placing this system in all of our hospitals. Bar codes on medications are scanned at the patient's bedside, providing our clinical staff with an effective tool to ensure that the right patient receives the right medication at the right time through the right route. __________________________________________________ Accreditations and CertificationsACCREDITED HOSPITAL (JOINT COMMISSION) ACCREDITED CHEST PAIN CENTER WITH PCI (SCPC) CERTIFIED ADVANCED PRIMARY STROKE CENTER (JOINT COMMISSION) ACCREDITED COMMUNITY CANCER CENTER PROGRAM (ACoS CoC)
