My mother was in his care at Methodist Hospital in February 1993. My mother was 66 yrs old and was admiitted with a mas...sive heart attack. My understanding is that after her admission, she was taken upstairs to have a heart cathertization. Within 24 hrs, my mom had lost approx 2-3 pints of blood. My mom had to be given a few pints of blood. I inquired with one of the cardiac care nurses and she dod not know what happened. I also noticed my mom's right leg was swollen and puffy with edema from her knee to her foot. Nurse said it was caused by meds given to her in emergency room. My mom had the catheter in that leg. My mom had bruising on her back also. She had an IV on her right wrist that had a large hematoma. My mom was to have a balloon done in her artery the following week by Dr Schnitzler. She did not survive. She had another hesrt attack in the hospital and passed away on 2-7-93. I wrote a lengthy letter to Dr Schnitzler since he would not return my calls. He called one late evening and explained that when my mom initially was admitted, she was taken upstairs to do the heart catheter and "someone else" punctured the artery in her leg/hip area and made a hole through the artery which caused blood to leak into my mom's right leg. After a few days, he was tryng to decide whether to remove the catheter or not. My mom was close to getting gangrene of her leg. He left the catheter in which made the blood continue to leak into her leg. I spoke with an emergency room nurse and she advised me that Dr Schnitzler was covering himself. I feel he lied and was partially at least responsible for my mom's death. I cannot get her back. May she rest in peace. more details
