My wife an I have been a patients for 5 years. I am healthy and wanted to come in for wellness checkup. I was informed t...hat I could come in for an office visit, then DR R would schedule me to come back for a annual physical. I said, I am not sick, I am calling to schedule the physical now, they said... no he will not do a physical without you first having an office visit, then scheduling to come back for a physical. I asked how that possibly makes sense... I asked what would the DR do during the "office visit" that was different from the physical? She said... he would meet with you, discuss how you feel and refill any prescriptions. I said... I DO NOT HAVE ANY prescriptions, I feel fine, I just want a physical. She said no. He would see me for office visit, then schedule a full physical. We wonder why insurance and healthcare is so high... some Doctors are just as bad as the insurance companies. I am not sick, I do not need two appointments for one physical (I have recent bloodwork results). I am not demanding a visit immediately... I would wait until the DR had time and have one visit that would be more efficient for ALL parties (the DR, Me, My work, and the insurance company)... the ONLY one that benefits from me doing 2 visits is the DR's bank account. Dr. Ruggiero is the most knowledgeable and caring physician I have ever known. He listens to every concern as if you ar...e a family member and formulates diagnosis and resultant treatment with throughness and care. Regardless of your problem, you leave each visit feeling confident and certain of a better future. I used to fear growing old - but under his care, with his great heart, spirit, and sense of humor when you need it most, I am looking forward to sharing a piece of my 100th birthday cake with him when the time rolls around.
