Dr Merson refused to give my 83 year old, terminally ill mother adequate pain relief. My mother suffered horribly under... Dr Merson's care. After 5 days of this so called "pain doctor" refusing to give my mother sufficient medication to make a dent in the excruciating pain from stage 4 lung cancer, we finally took her to the emergency room. They immediately admitted her and then she finally received the pain relief that Dr Merson refused to provide. In the hospital it was determined that adequate and appropriate pain management for my mother was doses of more than 2.5 times what Dr Merson was prescribing. Every patient has the right to adequate pain relief...especially an 83 year old palliative care patient. Unfortunately Dr Merson does not believe that.
