Dr. John H Mcvicker, MD

I was referred to Dr. McVicker from the ER at Memorial North last November after suffering from two herniated discs sinc...e June. I went to the other hospital system here 4 times in a 4 week period before any doctor told me I needed to get an MRI and noted on my records that I might have a herniated disc even though I had symptoms like numbness in my arms and severe neck pain and pain that radiated down both arms. They have a lousy referral system and was bounced from provider to provider. When my leg started to go numb I went to Memorial. I saw him in December and had surgery on January. He is a skilled surgeon with the best bedside manner and a wonderful person. His PA is great and he had a nice office staff.

I suffered through 7 months of debilitating pain because I could not find anyone to help me because I am self pay. It's nice to know there are people in the medical profession like Dr. McVicker who are more concerned about helping people than how are you going to pay me like the 2 orthopedic groups and neurologist group in the Springs are. more details
