My father recently underwent his fifth procedure for a frequent night time urinary problem. The first four surgeries wer...e ineffective. When he went in for the final surgery Dr. Gubin recommended what turned out to be an elective or non necessary procedure that had nothing to do with my father's issue. If my father had known it had nothing to do with his issue and a catheter had to be inserted afterwards, he never would have agreed to the procedure. Dr. Grubin recommended the surgery after he had been sedated and told the nurses to get him to "sign here and sign this etc.." He has had a lot of after affects since this was done. He never wanted the procedure done and since he is elderly (89) wasn't given a proper amont of time to understand the pro's and con's. My advice is to protect your parents by reviewing any surgical procedure well before consenting. My Dad is trusting to a fault, a world war II veteran and deserved better. Dr. Grubin may have a good record, I don't know, but in this instance he acted, in my opinion, unethically. Yes Doctor you did harm to an unaware gentleman and for this you should be apologetic and sorry. This review isn't sour grapes and litigation is not involved, just a son letting you know the truth. more details
