I was taken to UMASS from a small hospital in CT in Nov of 1980. I had been in a MVA, head on collision. Had fractured... sternum, fractured ribs, collapsed lung, cardiac contusion, fracture nose, and closed head injury. This doctor, literally and figuratively saved my life. With a head injury, painkillers other than tylenol are not allowed, but he used spinal blocks, and other creative measures to give me as much pain relief as he was able. His surgical skill in repairing my fx ribs and sternum, were without equal. He actually talked to me as a person, and is the reason I now live a fully healthy and functional life 30+ years later. He has few equals. more details
