Dr. Shakir is incredibly pompous, sexist, rude, and condescending. Every time I've been with a loved one for an appointm...ent with him, he's spent less than 15 minutes in the room, and most of that is spent yelling at the patient or arguing with the family support system as to which medications the patient is supposed to be taking. He prescribes medications that react poorly to each other, implements dangerous protocols during patient care, is vengeful and petty, and seems like he just generally does not care about anyone except himself and his money. I have not yet met a nurse who's worked with him who likes him or agrees with his advice or practices. I encourage anyone with a negative experience with this doctor to report him to the medical board because I truly think Dr. Shakir is negligent at best. more details
