I and my grandmother come here for years dr Ellis listens to me about my med side effects and changed them so I get much better. My grandmother comes also and she thinks he is very thorough and doesn't rush. He came over to see my grandmother when she felt sick so we didn't go to the emergency room. I like Kim the office manager because she knows us and get what I need for referrals and refills. She knows everyone and makes pts feel comfortable. The office is old-fashioned and personal and they try not to let you wait long. But the office is walk in and they don't really give you an appointment time. But that's good when your sick and you can walk in when you need instead he really been a great dr. If you need to find a new dr he is the right dr to switch to. Carol h from south phila

I'm Kim the office manager and its my job to deal with Internet abuse. I had to ask you to leave because your hygiene was terrible and we couldn't let you stay in the waiting room in your condition. I'm sorry, but out office is spotless. Filthy patients sometimes are, as in your case, the problem.

This office is very busy, but it's well worth the wait to see him because he really took apart my medical history and carefully asked me about it. I was really impressed and he does housecalls.

Dr Ellis is great because saved my finger. After a few days of healing,I went to an urgent care center concerned that my cut finger was infected. The doctor stitched it up and gave me antibiotic. Then the finger swelled up leaking puss all over. I went to Dr Ellis and he had to cut all the stitches out and clean it up. He said they shouldn't ever have closed an infected wound and then he changed the antibiotic. It took a while to heal, but it's better than loosing it! Never go to an urgent care center!

Dr Ellis is top in his field. I think it's great that he does housecalls too. Who in this day really does that!!! right, nobody. He has kept us from going to the ER and saved us from being stuck in the hospital. The few times he's had to go to the hospital for me he really tried to discharge me quickly. He didn't let me lay around in there forever and kept after the house staff! I feel really good we were referred to him and relieved he takes care of us!

Dr Ellis, thank you for making me get a flu shot(it didn't hurt) and Kim deserves a big thankyou for making sure I got to see the neurosurgeon you recommended, my lousy insurance wouldn't pay him until you argued that I needed him(he wasn't in the network but you scared them into letting me see him anyway). You are a saint to me! Donald

Yo doc, you are the best, I want everybody in south Philly to know about all the times you came over to see my wife after she got sick. You helped us through the home dialysis when we thought it was impossible and you got a great nurse for us. I got eagle tix waiting for you and you know it! Milkman

My mother comes to see Dr Ellis at his office. She does this because she knows that it makes him happy to see that she no longer needs him to do house calls for her. I know he's happy to see her because he smiles at her when she walks through his office door. It is really the most amazing thing because she's proud to show him she can come to his office and it makes her so exited to make the trip! Dr Ellis is very special to us because he puts a smile on my mothers face and gives her hope! A doctor like this is worth everything!

When I first went to Dr Ellis in 1997 he was fresh out of school and amazing. He tells me I was his first pt! When I saw dr Ellis many times after that and today in 2014 he is even more amazing because he still cares about me just as he did all those years ago!!!

A very important family physician, Dr Ellis is a clinical instructor in Family Medicine at Jefferson Medical College devoting much of his time to medical students on hospital rounds. He also spends many office hours caring for indigent patients, something most physicians in south phila are no longer willing to afford, and has been doing house calls in physician shortage areas for many years. There is no more respected a physician in our department of medicine and I am proud to have been both his colleague and friend for 20 years.

Great Dr! I always have a nice conversation with dr Ellis when I'm there. I have been his pt since 1997 and since then his office has gotton very busy. He still takes his time with me and he never rushes people out! He always had a walkin no apt needed policy which the whole neighborhood likes. I have seen him throw out drug seekers and sometimes they hassle him. You either love him or hate him, but the haters always wind up being drug seekers or welfare abusers. He's the only dr in our neighborhood that takes welfare and he's a good man for it. He rounds in the hospital and even does house calls at night! I don't know when he sleeps, he is so busy all the time. There is no better a dr than him!!! Gina Simone

I have been seeing Dr. Ellis for the past 8 years, he is a great doctor and I am appaulled at the comments on this site. I have witnessed myself people coming in the office simply for the purpose of seeking drugs and no, he does not treat those patients, he tells them he cant help them and they have to find another doctor. He has been great to me and my family, even goes to my parents home to treat them because they are elderly and unable to go to the office

Adam Ellis at 1641 Jackson Street is the worst individual I have ever met. He makes you wait in his office for hours not minutes hours. Then when you go back to be seen you wait another hour. When I finally complained, he freaked out and started cursing me out and called me a
dishonest. He discriminates against county insurance and literally will curse you out and throw you out of his office. This poor man is going to be sick one day and what goes around comes around.
