Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Centerin Camden is a regional referral center known for providing the most sophisticated levels of care. For nearly 60 years, the medical center has been committed to enhancing the health and well-being of southern New Jersey's residents, particularly those most in need.Sponsored by the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany, N.Y., Lourdes is a 410-bed teaching hospital. It is particularly known for the New Jersey Heart Institute at Lourdes, the largest provider of cardiac services in southern New Jersey and Philadelphia; the Regional Perinatal Center for high-risk mothers and infants; the Lourdes Stroke Center, certified as a Primary Stroke Center by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services and by the Joint Commission; bariatric, or weight-loss surgery, certified as a Center of Excellence by the Surgical Review Committee of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery; the Southern New Jersey Dialysis Center; the Center for Organ Transplantation providing kidney, pancreas and liver transplants; and the Lourdes Regional Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Hatala is the Chief Executive Officer of Our Lady of Lourdes Health System and President and CEO of Catholic Health East New Jersey. He is responsible for the performance and overall management of the systems and their affiliates.

Mr. Hatala has been with Lourdes since 1986, when he joined Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. He was named President and Chief Executive Officer of Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in 1991 and President and Chief Executive Officer of Our Lady of Lourdes Health System in 1998.

Prior to 1986, Mr. Hatala served as Executive Vice President for Operations at St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital Center in Chicago.

Mr. Hatala received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers University and a Masters in Business and Hospital Administration from the University of Florida.

Mr. Hatala is a Vice Chairman of the Board of the New Jersey Hospital Association. He is a member of the American Hospital Association, the New Jersey Conference of Catholic Health Care Facilities and the Greater Camden Partnership and a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
