An obstetrician/gynecologist possesses special knowledge, skills and professional capability in the medical and surgical care of the female reproductive system and associated disorders. This physician serves as a consultant to other physicians, and as a primary physician for women.
Critical Care Medicine - diagnoses, treats and supports female patients with multiple organ dysfunction.
The residency for obstetrics and gynecology is four years. One to three years of additional training is required to practice in one of the subspecialty areas.
The annual salary ranges from approximately $251,500 to $326,924.
