...>Dear Dr. Brown, (Janet, Office Manager, Jessica, and billing staff of Foregut ENT Services, and any included entity regarding agency/clinic),

I have had an ongoing sinus infection for 5 years, regardless of multiple rounds of antibiotics coupled with steroids, netti-pot treatments, and steam, herbs, and/or other advised procedures and prescriptions by specialists. An X-ray confirmed a mass collected in the left lower area of my sinus cavity. I did not have insurance or the money to proceed due to several factors: husband lost his job when he turned 58, Granddaughter was in a major car accident and sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury that engulfed her left brain; broke her neck, collar bone and also left arm- incurring over 3 million in medical which is continuing to accrue due to multiple surgeries and therapies; and I am providing housing for my daughter and family at a loss of $1000.00 monthly in rent, also paying taxes and insurance on said home, while starting my own new business as a professional counselor, and supporting my family....I have no money for me. Finally I got a discount plan with First Health, and hoped to get my nose issue corrected.

With Celiac-my autoimmune and healing is sluggish so I do not take antibiotics that lower my immunity; if I can resist it; and in this case-I know that it is not what I need. I was attempting to speak with the doctor who stood mainly to my back (awkward) and glanced often at the nurse in front, observing her facial and body language as she reacted to my disclosure - and it appeared that she was not believing my account of my self or needs; as well as; even to appoint of mockery that was reflected in her silence yet vocal alternative language. I have built a tolerance to antibiotics and have been advised that to take what I need-and it be enough now-that I would need to be in the hospital-and therefore I do not take it, attempting to lower that tolerance as much as possible. It could be that my life long sickliness until I knew of the gluten issue-which meant many doctor trips-has lead to my current situation. I did not feel validated during my first meeting at this doctor's office. No culture was taken on my sinus drainage nor any x-rays

. The doctor wanted my ears checked and allergies checked-after hearing of my financial status: which did appear that he was attempting to subject me to costly tests of which I had not come to have-nor could afford. I have excellent hearing. My sinus is year long, season after season, regardless of inside or outside, regardless of what building that I am in. I am 61 and am mainly a natural and alternative health person. I know my body and issues more than anyone else, yet I did not feel validated as I disclosed the many issues that I had. It seemed as if he was not listening carefully to me and my concerns.

He suggested a CT scan. I asked, "What would be my cost for this?" He replied, that he did not know. They offered to check with my insurance and get back with me. I also suggested that I could check on my end to help as well. I was told that I would hear from them in about 3 days and was given a CPT billing code for the CT procedure needed. Weeks passed and I had not heard from him or his staff so I called and was advised by Janet that they thought I was going to do this for them; instead of alongside them-so I explained that a miscommunication had occurred but I would call and I did call.

The insurance told me that the doctor needed to call since he had the contract with them. They were surprised at the office asking me to call and said this was the provider's responsibility (which I knew due to being a mental health provider) so I sent an email and called and left voicemail as well-advising what the insurance said. When Janet contacted me again she gave me the tax ID of the doctor so I called my insurance again-yet again was told that the doctor would need to call. I again contacted the office I again left an email. It seems that this scenario repeated on several occasions, and the last voice mail that I received was from Janet; and with a tone of her voice she stated that they received my email and she spoke with Jessica, and that they were not able to get information from my insurance. She followed this with my need to make an appointment to speak with Dr. Brown.

Why would I speak with Dr. Brown? I have no answers as to his contract with my insurance. I have no ability to know the costs. I have not been able to move forward with treatment and am feeling most invalidated at this point. I am sure that he has surgical skills but I cannot blindly have anything done without first weighing the responsibilities that I have since I am mindful of my bills and of my debt. Since your office is not "able" to do your job in retrieving insurance information for your patients, then frankly I am unable to continue trying to work with you.

I have located another ENT and pray that this one will be more professional, attentive, and compassionate to me as a patient. My nose is worse and causing more issues. I need answers and I need help.

Respectfully,

Glyndora Condon AA AS BS MS MFT LPC (mental and behavioral health provider) who is in networks with insurances; and who does retrieve insurance information for my patients.

I have had several office visits each of which had a 2 hour wait in the waiting room past my appointed time. He does no...t listen to patients. When I was trying to explain my symptoms he kept suggesting treatments that I knew would not work. He kept saying that it was allergies. It clearly was not allergies because my symptoms were very specific to specific actions that did not involve allergies. I had the allergy test done which proved that I did not have allergies yet he still insisted that I did. I had the balloon septoplasty done and was never given any post op instructions which caused scar tissue to develop and left me no better off... Now I have to have another septoplasty done by a different doctor of course. In post op appointments he spent less than 5 minutes time with me and blamed me for allowing scar tissue to form. Total hack and QUACK! Do NOT go to this office or this doctor! He is just in it to spend as little time with you as possible and then send you to the operating room so he can hear his money! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! more details
